WHAT WE COLLECT

Information collected automatically. Like any website, ours records technical information about your visit: browser and device type, IP address, which pages you opened, and when. This is standard web-server and error-reporting data, and we use it to keep the site working and to see which pages people find useful.

Information you give us. Depending on what you use:

• Member accounts — your email address, a password, and a display name. You can also add a profile photo, your Pokémon GO trainer name, your trainer code and your Campfire name.

• Admin applications — your email address, trainer name, trainer code, trainer level, Campfire username, a link to your Facebook profile, and your written answers.

• Event tools — our Remote Raid, PvP Arena and trade tools store what you type into them: trainer names, in-game friend codes, team choices and trade lists.

• Prize claims at events — when you win on one of our big-screen games, we store the display name you typed and a random identifier for the phone you used, so the same person cannot claim twice. We do not ask for your email address, phone number or age.

• Photos — we take photographs at our public events and publish some of them in our gallery and on social media.

Event feedback is anonymous. The feedback form has no name field, no email field, and does not require an account. We receive your ratings and comments and nothing that identifies you.

Trainer codes and friend codes count as contact information. They let another player reach you in the game, so we treat them the same way we treat an email address.
 

INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE PUBLIC

Some of our tools are built to be shared, and anything you share through them stops being private:

• Trade lists you share create a public link showing your trainer name and your list. Anyone with that link can open it, and it can be picked up by search engines and preview cards on social media.

• Your member profile — display name, photo, trainer name and trainer code — is visible to other signed-in members.

Nothing is shared this way unless you choose to share it, but once shared it is public. If you want a shared link taken down, email us.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

To run the site and its tools, to run our events and issue prizes fairly, to answer you when you contact us, to review admin applications, and to understand which parts of the site people actually use so we can improve them.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels — there is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no ad network anywhere on this website. We will only hand over personal information if we are legally required to.

WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS STORED

We are a small volunteer group and we use ordinary service providers to run the site. They store and process information on our behalf, under their own privacy and security terms:

• Wix — website hosting, member accounts and forms.

• Supabase — the database behind our event tools, feedback, trade lists and prize records.

• Sentry — error reporting built into our website platform, which records technical details when something on the site breaks.

• PayPal — donations are handled entirely by PayPal. Your payment goes to them, not to us, and we never see or store your card or bank details.

These providers are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.

COOKIES AND BROWSER STORAGE

Our website uses cookies to keep your session working and to protect forms from abuse. Most browsers accept cookies automatically and you can change that in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working if you block them.

We also store small amounts of data directly in your browser — for example your light/dark theme choice, and a random identifier for your device used by our event games so a prize is only issued once per player. This is not a cookie, so clearing cookies will not remove it; you can clear it through your browser's site-data settings.
 

CHILDREN

Our community is open to trainers of every age, and children are welcome at our in-person events with a parent or guardian.

This website is a different matter. It is not directed to children under 13, and we ask that nobody under 13 create a member account, submit an admin application, or fill in any form here that asks for contact information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website.

The one place a child may enter something is our big-screen games at events, which ask a player to type whatever they would like to be called on screen. We do not ask players for an email address, a phone number, an age or any other contact detail.

If you are a parent or guardian and you would like a name, a photograph, or anything else relating to your child removed, email ShinyHuntersofNoblesville@Yahoo.com and we will remove it. You do not need to explain why.
 

YOUR CHOICES

• See or change what we hold — sign in and open your preferences, or email us.

• Delete your account — you can delete your own member account from the site, which removes your profile and the details attached to it.

• Ask us to delete something else — a photo, a shared trade list, an old application. Email us and we will remove it.

• Give feedback without being identified — use the event feedback form, which is anonymous by design.

HOW LONG WE KEEP THINGS

We keep information only for as long as it is doing a job. Member details stay until you delete your account. Event records, prize claims and completed applications are cleared out once the event or the decision they relate to is done with. Anonymous feedback has nothing in it to identify you, so we keep it to compare events over time.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Our site links out to places like Facebook, Campfire, Niantic's and Scopely's Pokémon GO pages, and PayPal. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's website, under their privacy policy, not ours. We have no control over how they handle your information, so it is worth reading their policies.
 

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we change this policy we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
