A year and a half ago, Shiny Hunters of Noblesville adopted a mile of the White River Greenway through Forest Park — from the Inn to and including Riverwalk Depot Park — through the Noblesville Parks Department's Adopt-a-Trail program. The reasoning was simple: a group that meets in these parks every week ought to leave them better than it found them. Playing the game brought us together; the parks are where that actually happens, and they deserved something back from us.
Since then we have cleaned that stretch nearly every week, sometimes twice. That adds up to more than 50 cleanups and over 300 volunteer hours — usually six to ten trainers spending about an hour picking up litter, clearing the path, and keeping the trail safe and welcoming for everyone who uses it. The work runs under a formal agreement with the Parks Department, and we report our hours to them after every cleanup. What started as a pledge has become one of the most reliable things our group does, and it's proof that the community spirit we share in-game carries straight over to the real-world spaces we share.
This is a long-term commitment, and every cleanup is open to any member — no experience needed, no dues, all ages welcome, just a quick waiver the first time. Come earn your "good citizen badge," get some fresh air, and meet the people you've been raiding with. Check the Event Calendar for the next cleanup date.
